Help Wanted!

I know it has been awhile sense I last did a post but I just don't have anything important to post on. But lately I have been reading the Mormon Bachelor Pad blog and get quite a kick out of it. I think that I should start a blog of my own about my dating experiences. But then I think, wait I don't have any dating experiences so that would not work. But as I was texting this kid from my class last night I found that I actually was quite nervous when he said that we should go hiking up by mirror lake. Of course I was like oh that sounds like fun when really I was thinking how much I really don't like hiking and how it is most likely going to be cold. So I told him that it might be cold and he was like well we should come up with a plan B in case it is cold. I told him that I would think about a plan B sense he was coming up to my home town so I really need some suggestions of what to do. (This could be my very first post on my new blog about Mormon women dating.) Please leave your ideas about what I should do next saturday. I have to text him back by Sunday.

Road Trip With The Family

I just took a nine day road trip with my family and have lots of pictures to show what I saw along my way. But beware there are a lot of pictures.

I could not get these to move to the right place. But these are picture of my poison Oak. It started on my nose and then spread everywhere on my face including my eye and my ears and then down my chest.

The beautiful scenery that we had to look at for hours. And don't be deceived it is not water it is nothing.
A picture of the girls at the Salt Flats.
Crater Lake. And yes it really was that color of blue. It is said to be the cleanest water in America.

The first waterfall that we saw on the road trip. We were on our way to Crater Lake and just saw it on the side of the road.

The third day of the trip was my favorite. We spent the day hiking up to all these different waterfalls. It was called the most beautiful 30 miles in Oregon and I thought that it truly was so here is a bunch of pictures of all the waterfalls.
My all time favorite waterfall.

At the beginning of the trail to one of the waterfalls there was a huge area filled with all of these karens that someone made.
A little walkway that we had to walk through to get to one of the waterfalls.

My dad and I waiting for my mom and sister to hike up to a spot where Indian boys used to go before they became a man to wait for inspiration. It just did not appeal to us the way it did to my mom.
After spending the day at the waterfalls we headed back to a campground that actually had showers where we all could shower after not being able to for three days. We all smelt great:) Well it was dark outside and I was walking back from the campground and I took a short cut through another campground and I tripped over the fire place. I landed on my leg and scrapped it down the bone. I could not walk for days. I doesn't look near as bad as how it felt.
Sunday we stopped at this light house. My family went and took a tour of the light house while I sat in the car because my leg hurt to bad to even move. But my brother took pictures of the light house so I didn't even need to get out.

California Coast
Another picture taken by my brother that I just love.
On the 4th of 5th Day into the trip. We drove down the coast and stopped all along the way to look at different points of the coast.
The base of one of the huge trees. You cannot really tell how big it is in this picture. But it was huge!

This was one of the biggest trees we saw the whole trip. The base was big enough that we could drive the van through.
My brother actually took this picture but I love it so much that I thought I would put it on here.
Just a picture of how high the trees are.
This Picture was taken at Stout Grove.
This was the coolest tree that we saw. It is called corkscrew tree. I hiked for like three miles to see it so I am glad that it was cool.
Ashlee standing in the rain.
This was the water fall that was flowing through that campground that was next to ours.        (We almost stayed there.)
After spending two days at this campground in the rain this is what the car looked like. There are like two inches of leaves on the top of everything.

On Thursday we took of and headed inland and away from the rain. On the drive our van just all of a sudden stopped. We sat on the side of the road for about an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with it but ended up having to have it towed. It cost $400 to tow it to where it had to go because it had to be taken to a dodge dealership. After a three hour tow to Redding my parents spent the night in the van in the parking lot and we got a hotel room at the cheapest place possible and the room sure smelt like it to.

On Friday the Van got fixed which was another $400 and then we ate breakfast in the park. Then at about 10am we decided to just head home. We dropped Tyson off in Reno and then continued onward. After all day and night in the car we finally pulled in the driveway at 3am on Saturday.  It was a long vacation but I cannot say that it was all bad.

P.S. I hope everyone enjoys this post because it took like two hours. I think I need to find a better way to do this.

Question of the day?

What do you do when the four year old that you babysit. Lays in bed and cries because he cannot get his poop to come out? Anyone have any suggestions? Oh! The joys of babysitting:)

I actually did it!

I guess you are all wondering what it is I have done. Well at the beginning of the summer sometime I wrote a blog (that I cannot seem to find) about a goal that I was going to make. Now it was not a big goal but a goal at that and I would just like to inform everyone that I have succeeded. Now if you don't know what my goal was I am sorry but I guess you will have to pay better attention to my post. Anyway moving on. Today I spent the day canning apples. I have the most favorite dessert in the entire world and that is Apple crisp. SO today I canned 27 jars of apples and it only took me 5 and half hours but it was worth it because now I will be able to eat it whenever i want and I hope that it will be delicious.

Frustrating stories of my life as a Nanny.

As I sit here at 1:15am trying to stay awake I think to myself. I should update my blog. I don't have much to update about but I have nothing better to do. Lets see. . . What have I been doing in the last month? Well I am still working in Park City as a nanny. Which I have to say is going OK. I have started school which thankfully I only have one class that I am taking. It is on Wednesday night and it is about the best class ever. It is a literature class and all we have to do is read elementary novels and do some form of book reports on them. The books I have to read include: hatchet, The Giver, Maniac Magee, Esperanza Rising, One series of Harry Potter and Watson's go to Birmingham. Pretty good selection if I do say so myself. Well that is about it.
I do have a funny but frustrating story to tell about my job. I was babysitting on Thursday and I watch two little boys. They both take a nap. The 4 year old has to be in bed from 2 to 3:30 and believe me this time flies by. So the other day at about 3 I hear him practically throwing a fit in his room. So after about five minutes I go in there to see what the problem is. And you will not believe what he told me. He says to me, "My Poop will not come out. I just keep squeezing and pushing and it will not come out." I was just baffled. I really did not know what to say. So trying not to laugh at him I tell him that he should just lay back and calm down and his poop will come out when it is ready. I was quite proud of myself for the answer I came up with because I was about to strangle the kid. You can tell that my life is quite pathetic when this is the best story of the month that I can give but there it is. I did get to spend the day with my favorite kid today so I am fully recovered from the incident.

July

Ok, so I have been getting a few complaints that I have to updated my blog for a long time so here it goes. The rest of my summer has just flown by. I cannot figure out where it all went. So I will just tell you all the things that I have been doing sense July.

July started off with a bang when I woke up one morning with my tooth feeling like I have rammed an ice pick through it and into my ear. So I set off to the dentist only to find out that my month of July was going to be filled with pain and it was going to be expensive. Starting off on the 30th of June I had to go on antibiotics to clear up my huge infection I had in my tooth so that I could get one of those awesome root canals. After being on those for a week I got to go in on the 6th and have my root canal done. The next couple of days we horrible. My jaw hurt from being propped open for an hour and a half because one they got in there it was still pretty infected so they had to but cleanser down there and made me sit for twenty minutes. Promptly after my root canal I headed to Lake Powell with Susan and her extended family. Can you say Fun! No actually it really was not that bad. The best was getting to drive home with Don because he decided that he had had enough of Susan's family and wanted to come home with me the night before everyone else left. Oh what fun that was. It was probably the longest drive home from lake Powell ever recorded. After getting home from the longest drive ever I had about 6 hours of sleep and then I was up the next morning to go to a babysitters bash where I met Bryna. She has two little boys and wanted me to start babysitting two days a week. So two days before my birthday I started my nanny job in Park City. This is Leo. He is the youngest of the two boys and a complete cutie...
Next was my Birthday. Which I did nothing except at around 4 I went to my friend Patti's house and had cake and then ended up going to a movie with her and her son. The next day Susan felt a little bad because she had forgotten that it was my birthday so she decided that she was going to pretend that it was still my birthday so we had our traditional cake out on the lawn. It is way more fun for the kids then it is for me as you can tell from the pictures of Luke and his little mini look-a-like cousin Zach...
The next Monday was followed by possibly the worst week of my life. I had my wisdom taken from me and the dentist had a hard time getting my left tooth out and he dug and dug at it until it finally came out in five different pieces. This is how I looked three days later. I had to eat apple sauce and chicken noodle soup for four days!!!

Not that this was the end of all my fun. Later that week I developed a dry socket and if you have ever had one I am terribly sorry because it hurts like none other. But because this wonderful thing developed on a Friday night I had to wait until Monday to get it fixed. Not to mention that I had to work a catering job on Saturday. When I got home that night I don't think that I have ever been in so much pain in my life! But once Monday came around I was a happier person. All the dentist had to do was but a few medicated gauze rolls in the hole and it was as good as new. I ended up working all day on Monday and Tuesday so I had no contact with the outside world.

Then to finish up the month I went to the snake river with my family. And wow was the the best time ever. Not. We went up on Wednesday and rafted down the river on kayaks. Then at about one thirty in the morning on Thursday my mom, sister, and my sister's boyfriend showed up at camp. The next two days were filled with arguing, river rafting, and my brothers complaining that they were bored. Tyson and Shawn left Friday night so it was pretty quiet that night but we woke up to the sound of rain puring down on us and it didn't let up all morning. We had to be out of our camp ground by noon so we had to take everything down in the rain. I was soak through to the bone and all muddy. This trip just gets me looking forward to the ten day trip up the coast that my mom insists we need to take as a a family before my brother leave to go on his sail trip around the world. So now as you can see from this very long post that I have been extremely busy in July and so I get to be excused from not updating my blog.

Out on the town.

So lets start the day off with Katie and Nicole being a half hour late picking me up. Which I was not all that surprised because they are always late. Then Katie tells us that we need to go and get gas but she wants to go to Oakley and fill up at the gas station there. Now this is where all the fun began. As Katie is pulling up she starts telling us how she hates to go to this gas station because they fill your tank for you. (It is probably one of the only places that still does service for you which shows you how small our town still is.) Anyway. As she gets out of the car she cannot figure out how to open the gas tank. Which is down right funny. So the guy comes out to fill the tank and starts to make fun of Katie because she still doesn't have the gas tank open. She finally fins the lever to open it and the guy says, "Is this your first day driving a car?" Wow it was funny but it might just be one of those you just had to be there stories so bare with me. Then Katie proceeds to sit and watch the guy as he clean of her windshield. Just sitting in the car watching her be all awkward was the best time that I have had all week. Well we finally finish up there and headed on our way. We ended up going to Fashion Place mall because someone told us that there were really cute sun dresses on sale. (Misleading information. We found nothing) But we did manage to take some pictures.

Waiting for Katie and Kelsey

We were starving as we sat for like a half hour waiting for Katie and Kelsey to finish their shopping. We sat by this sign debating on whether we needed to get some junk food or not. Look at sad Nicole thinking if only I had some Mike n Nite's (No idea how to spell that)

It was their idea not mine to take their picture in front of this awesome sign.

(Notice I am not in any of these pictures. Apparently I was just not look presentable. AND I even showered and did my hair!)
As we are winding up our time at the mall Chanae remembers that she left her camera at the really expensive black dress store called black and white. Nicole and I were fallowing her through the mall as she was practically running to get back to the store. Much to her relief she found it at the store and this was the look on her grateful little face.

We finally got to eat. We went to Olive Garden and had their soup, salad, and bread sticks. They were delicious but we totally got riped off. Oh well.
(As you can see I think that I look half decent. I am not sure why nobody wanted to be in a picture with me.)
Chanae licking her fingers and I have no idea what Nicole face is expressing.
Katie of course not paying any attention.
After the mall we went to Target. By this time Chanae and Nicole were feeling like they really wanted to be done. I tried to convince them to get in the cart and I would push them around but they decided that they wanted to just sit on the floor and wait for Katie and Kelsey. I decided that I needed some black pants and sense I didn't want to go to the dressing rooms by myself and these guys were not moving I decided to try my pants on right there in the middle of the store. And lets just say that it kept us entertained.

Oh and on the way home. This is what we saw just sitting in the middle of the gas station so we had to turn the car around and park on the other side of the street just so that we could get pictures. I have been living in this town all of my life and it is amazing how I can still find things that just amaze me.

Pictures as Promised.

The Narrows

The end of the hike. We were all ready to go home shower and relax.

Up above. Waiting for MJ as Chanae would call her.

This is just my favorite picture. Not! But it is the only one where you can really see me so to risk total embarrassment I decided to post it.

Brooke and I had a really hard time staying out of the water. This is one of our great falls caught on camera.
